World Water Day 2012

On March 22, 2012, people around the world will join together to remember the nearly one in seven people who go without clean water today and every day. On World Water Day, as we pray for people who face drought, waterborne diseases, lack of sanitation, and other water-related natural disasters, may the love God has given to us inspire our prayers to move us to action.
Many people in the world’s driest areas with the least water infrastructure (such as wells, water catchment systems, and sanitation systems), walk an average of four miles to reach water sources that are often unclean. But the problem doesn’t stop there. Without water, people don’t have the chance to grow food for their families.

This is not their problem – it is our problem.

Jesus said, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward” (Matthew 10:42).

Remember tomorrow to pray, seek how you can be involved and act!
